We are back together–SID Vehicle Display and Interface 2021 conference review

September 30, 2021, by Jennifer Colegrove Ph.D. Principal Analyst, Touch Display Research Inc. and Battery Market Research

I just returned from the SID Vehicle Display and Interface 2021 conference in Detroit, Michigan. It was my honor to meet many of you in person.

The COVID-19 pandemic made the 2020 conference on line. Now in 2021, our industry professionals are back together to re-connect with each other. Many attendees said, “I’m so glad to see REAL people!”, “People are tied of online things, and it’s time to come out of their home.” “For display and touch screen, you have to see and touch it.”

This year’s conference had over 200 industry professionals attended in-person and some attended online. Comparing with the record high attendees–approximately 700 in 2019, 2021 is a fresh start. Here is my blog two years ago about the 2019 SID Vehicle Display and Interface Conference.

On behalf of Touch Display Research, I gave a presentation on Automotive Touch, Display, ADAS, Smart Windows and EV battery Market.

I recall when I spoke at this conference about 10 years ago regarding touch screen, there were approximately 100 attendees.
